WVU Loses Out to North Carolina State for Top In-State OL Prospect Robby Martin

West Virginia native OL prospect Robby Martin

Robby Martin (6-foot-5, 285 pounds), the No. 1 offensive lineman in the 2024 class from West Virginia, will not become a Mountaineer after all. Martin verbally committed to North Carolina State Monday evening. He also tweeted a graphic with the news.

Martin currently plays football in Huntington, W.V. where he also won a state title in wrestling. He lists himself as a four-star recruit on Twitter, but it is unclear where that rating comes from since all four major recruiting outlets have him as a three-star.

That being said, ESPN, On3 and 247Sports all rank him as the top player in West Virginia for 2024. Rivals doesn’t rank West Virginia recruits. His national interior line ranking varies from No. 20 (Rivals) to No. 40 (On3).

In a past interview with WVSN, Martin described himself as big, versatile and physical. He said he’s always been a West Virginia fan growing up and wants a family atmosphere at his future program.

Will 2024 3-Star OL Robby Martin Fulfill Lifelong Dream at WVU or Join Another School?

He only took two official visits so far to West Virginia (June 9) and NC State (June 16).
