Javon Small with Grizzlies

Former WVU basketball guard Javon Small nearly set a new career-high for scoring in a 123-114 loss. He tallied 21 points off the bench, with his current career-high being 22.

Small had a very efficient night from the floor, shooting 6-8 from the floor and a blistering 4-5 from three-point range. He added nine assists with just one turnover and six rebounds. His efforts resulted in the Grizzlies naming him the player off the game.

The loss drops the Grizzlies to 21-35 on the season. Despite the team’s struggles, Small has been given plenty of opportunities this season with 16 minutes per game.

Small, West Virginiaโ€™s point guard during the 2024-25 season, led the Mountaineers to a 19-12 record,ย just missing out on the NCAA Tournament. He finished second in the Big 12 in scoring, averaging 18.6 points per game while earningย first-team All-Big 12 honors.
