Knapper Sidelined Again

WVU redshirt freshman point guard, Brandon Knapper, has struggled with injuries in the past. Last season, he was expected to play valuable minutes off the bench behind Jevon Carter, but was redshirted when he sustained an offseason meniscus injury.

According to Allan Taylor of WV Metronews, Knapper is out for the summer with blood clots, but he is still participating in weightlifting and some conditioning drills. He is expected to be cleared by doctors for preseason practices.

Many have very high hopes for Knapper, saying he learned a lot from Carter and has a well-rounded offensive game.

Brandon Knapper is from South Charleston High School in West Virginia, where he was a three-time AAA all-state player, and also averaged 28 points per game as a senior.

Knapper is currently taking medication to treat the clotting issue and a source close to the team says, “It all looks really positive for him.”
