Liberty Transfer Safety Robert Rahimi Places WVU in Top 3, Announces Timetable for Decision
West Virginia now knows their work to recruit a transfer at a key position of need is working.
Liberty transfer safety Robert “Rocket” Rahimi announced late Sunday night that he’s narrowed down his list of schools to a final three, a select group that includes the Mountaineers. Kansas State and SMU also made his top three programs.
West Virginia, Kansas State and SMU are my top 3. Will be making a decision in the next day or two! Thank you to all the schools who reached out!

Rahimi won’t be wasting any time and leading anyone on either. He says he will make his decision public over the next day of two. In addition to his top three, Rahimi also received offers from major programs like Rutgers, Kansas and Arizona State. WVU extended an offer to Rahimi about a week ago.
The Liberty transfer just completed his second season with the Flames, recording 56 total tackles with 24 solo and 32 assists during the 2022 season. He made 78 overall tackles in two seasons at Liberty. Rahimi will be a grad transfer at his next school.
After a mass exodus of players, ignited by cornerback Charles Woods, WVU has been putting energy into looking to the Transfer Portal to try to acquire some experience for 2023, especially on defense and in the secondary.
