Swinton (6-foot-6) reopened his recruitment on April 18 after decommitting from Virginia Tech. Swinton was offered by West Virginia on May 1. Swinton has received offers from George Mason, Georgetown, Howard, Maryland, Virginia Tech and West Virginia. Swinton is still considering the Hokies. Swinton, who played at Oak Hill Academy last season, plans to finish off his high school career at Bishop O’Connell. The Virginia Tech decommit was once planned to play at Sierra Canyon in California during his senior year.
Swinton is a native of Hyattsville, Md., which is WVU assistant DerMarr Johnson’s regional area. Johnson has extended offers to numerous Maryland kids his first four months on the new job.
