Mountaineers Offer Cornerback from North Carolina

West Virginia has offered Gastonia, North Carolina corner Tony Davis (6’1″ 186 lbs) out of Hunter Huss High School. The newly offered recruit is currently committed to Duke.

He calls his WVU offer a blessing, saying it was unexpected and that he loves West Virginia a lot.  Davis likes the program, saying “I like a lot about them, but I have a lot to learn at the same time.”

He’s a hard hitting corner that can make some crushing hits and can get to the ball and break the pass up or get into the backfield and disrupt the run. All in all, he’s a versatile corner.

Davis is not sure about a visit yet, saying he has to check it over with his parents.

His goals for this upcoming season are to become a better leader and develop a better motor. He also wants to win a state title and just have fun. His thought on possibly playing in the Big XII are, “It could happen! Definitely something to look into.” On West Virginia’s defense he says ” It’s a great defense and fits the players they get, I feel like I could work with that defense”.

He does not have a top list of schools as of yet, he likes a lot, but West Virginia is definitely a top school!  He will make his announcement in December and we will be sure to bring that to you!
