Nick Krahe committed to the Mountaineers ahead of the 2023 season as a consensus three-star recruit. He starred on both sides of the ball in high school, playing at both offensive guard and tackle, but at 6-foot-6 and 305 pounds would likely serve the Mountaineers best using his wingspan to fight off edge rushers. Tied as one of the four tallest players on the roster, that height and length could make Krahe a natural at tackle.
During his first two seasons with WVU Football, Krahe made it onto the field as a member of the special teams unit, indicating a higher level of athleticism than one might expect from the average lineman. He’ll have plenty of competition for a starting role in 2025 but seems to be on a good trajectory, his playing time increasing from season to season.

Camp outlook: The Mountaineers brought in veteran transfers to rebuild an offensive line room that lost all of their starters from last season, giving Krahe plenty of competition for a starting role.
Projected role: Krahe may not start this season, but expect an expanded role for him nonetheless. He took snaps on the offensive line in addition to special teams in 2024.
Accolades, highlights: A three-star recruit in high school, Krahe also starred on the basketball court, a testament to his combination of size and athleticism.
