Oklahoma Transfer Javian McCollum Hears from WVU

Oklahoma transfer guard Javian McCollum has heard from West Virginia, he tells The Portal Report and WV Sports Now. McCollum was the Sooners’ leading scorer this past season.

McCollum has also heard from Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Michigan, Texas A&M, USC, Vanderbilt and VCU since entering the transfer portal on Thursday.

McCollum (6-foot-1) averaged 13.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists through 30 games with the Sooners. McCollum shot 40% from the field, 31% from three and 94% from the free throw. The Fort Myers, Fl. native had four 20-point games this season against Central Arkansas, Kansas State, Arkansas and BYU. McCollum dropped 13 points vs. West Virginia on Jan. 17.

McCollum began his career at Siena for his freshman and sophomore 6.7 points and 15.9 points.

WVU has landed one transfer commitment in Tucker DeVries so far this offseason losing just Seth Wilson (G) and Kerr Kriisa (G) so far. The Mountaineers also plan on hosting Conor Enright (G – Drake) and Toby Okani (F – UIC) for visits this month.

Most recently, West Virginia flipped Drake’s high school signee KJ Tenner, who was Mr. Basketball in the state of Tennessee.
