If you were ever to meet the president of the United States, what would you say? Not a lot of people can say that they’ve interacted with the president before, but WVU head coach Bob Huggins can.

“Well, honestly I would be doing a lot better if one your security guys didn’t throw my underwear on the floor and not pick it up,” Huggins said to President Bill Clinton in 1995. “I didn’t appreciate it.”

Huggins’ Cincinnati Bearcats were playing Clinton’s alma mater in Arkansas, when the president wanted to come in and say hello to the team. When the president is going to meet someone, safety precautions need to be dealt with, and Huggins understood that. When Clinton’s security team was going through Huggins’ bag, they tossed everything out, including the coach’s underwear. Then when Huggins was questioning what they were doing, they told him to pick it up.

When Huggins approached the president about it, Clinton was shocked.

“I’ll look into it,” Clinton responded.
