Wren Baker’s Upcoming Mayo Bath to Benefit WVU Children’s Hospital
Neal Brown took the mayo bath to close West Virginia’s 2023 season, but now it’s Wren Baker’s turn. The time is coming for Baker, WVU’s director of athletics, to fulfill his promise to also endure mayonnaise being dumped on him.
On Monday, the Duke’s Mayo Bowl announced Baker’s upcoming mayo bath will be for an even better cause than just the enjoyment of it for fans. The Duke’s Mayo Bowl is parenting with Country Roads Trust to raise money for WVU Children’s Hospital.

Three months ago @wrenbaker agreed to be covered in mayo.
Now we're partnering with @CountryRdsTrust to make it happen…and raise money for @WVUKids. The idea is simple: the more we raise the more mayo is dumped.

So now it’s your chance to make Baker’s bath of mayonnaise best possible experience for everyone. The more money raised equals the more mayonnaise will be dumped on Baker.
Part of winning the Duke’s Mayo Bowl comes with the tradition of taking a mayo bath, and that sparked Baker to promise he would take one himself if the Mountaineers were able to capture the bowl victory. WVU delivered, beating North Carolina 30-10 to close out the year with the team’s ninth win of the season.
