WVU Football Recruiting

Complete List of High School Recruits Offered by WVU Football

WVU Football practice facility

To say the WVU football program has been putting in a lot of recruiting work since the end of the 2022 season would be an understatement. West Virginia is looking to follow up a solid 2023 recruiting class with an even better group in 2024. This in hopes of getting the Mountaineer back to glory on a consistent basis.

Because, we at WV Sports Now, understand how difficult it can be to keep up with college football recruiting, especially when you mix in the transfer portal, we curated most of the offers WVU has sent out of to high school players.

Below includes a brief description of some of the top rated players and then a complete list spreadsheet (in no particular order). Note: Click on the name to find an update or a WVSN exclusive interview with the recruit.

Click here for an ongoing breakdown of the recruits who have committed to West Virginia.

Javon Hammonds (2024 3-Star Edge – 6-foot-5, 230 pounds)

Javon Hammonds Jr., who is listed at 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, is a member of WVU’s 2024 recruiting class. He attends Wayne High School in Dayton, Ohio.

AnaTay Smith (2025 WR – 5-foot-11, 160 pounds)

The Mountaineers interest in building a Florida recruiting pipeline receivers includes WVU wide receivers coach Bilal Marshall establishing a connection with class of 2025 prospect AnaTay Smith.

Obinna Onwuka (2024 4-Star DE – 6-foot-2, 225 pounds)

Onwuka Onwuka, listed at 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds, is ranked as the No. 12 player in Maryland, the No. 30 edge-rusher and the No. 359 player nationally, according to 247Sports composite rankings. He announced he’s fully locked into becoming a Mountaineer on June 9.

Robby Martin (2024 3-Star OL – 6-foot-5, 285 pounds)

A Huntington, West Virginia native, Robby Martin has WVU firmly among his top 8 schools. West Virginia is on his updated list along with Georgia Tech, Miami (FL), North Carolina State, Tennessee and Big Ten schools Maryland, Illinois and Penn State. He was previously considering Appalachian State, Cincinnati, Duke, Virginia Tech and many others.

Keelan “KJ” Flowe (2024 Safety – 5-foot-11, 170 pounds)

Keelan “KJ” Flowe, a Charlotte, North Carolina native, is an athletic safety, who also has offensive experience at wide receiver.

“They watched my film and they loved it and knew they had to offer me,” Flowe told WVSN about what the WVU coaches said to him when he received an offer. He committed on June 13.

Jamison Kitna (2025 3-Star QB –  6-foot-2, 215 pounds)

Jamison Kitna is a class of 2025 quarterback who spent his sophomore season at Burleson High School in Burleson, Texas and will spend his junior season at Lakota East High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is garnering plenty of attention around the country and even a three-star rating despite having two high school seasons left to play. But Kitna, maybe unlike some of his peers has been preparing for this process his entire life.

Javier Etheridge (2024 3-Star WR/CB – 5-foot-10, 165 pounds)

The WVU football program has been awarded the green light to keep pursuing Javier Etheridge. This is thanks to the three-star athlete placing the Mountaineers among his top 6 schools. Etheridge plays on both sides of the ball at wide receiver and cornerback.
