To complete the running back exodus of WVU football roster, Cyncir Bowers announced he will be leaving West Virginia and entering the transfer portal.

Bowers ran for 249 yards on 63 rushing attempts and scored a pair of touchdowns for the Mountaineers. He also caught eight passes for 184 yards and a score.

Bowers transferred to West Virginia in May 2025 after beginning his college career at Iowa Central Community College.

A 5-foot-10, 191 pound back, Bowers racked up more than 1,300 offensive yards during his freshman season and added nearly 500 more on special teams. Even at the junior college level, that performance put him on the map for Power Four programs: he also received an offer from Florida State.
