Reminder: Entry to NCAA Basketball Transfer Portal Closes This Week

Published

on

The NCAA Basketball Transfer Portal will close its doors this week as it ends the 60-day window for the offseason. Players will have to enter their names by Thursday, May 11.

For any confusion, student-athletes that are already in the transfer portal or enter their name by Thursday will still be allowed to extend their recruitment as long as they please.

The transfer portal currently has over 1,600 men’s players entering the database since Aug. 1. Most of the entries come within the past 60 days. Many have entered the portal due to a coaching change, lack of playing time or wanting to go back home.

West Virginia has had a successful offseason, picking up four transfer portal players in the 60-day window, adding to Jose Perez who they landed back in October. Bob Huggins and his coaching staff add RaeQuan Battle (G – Montana State), Jesse Edwards (C – Syracuse), Kerr Kriisa (G – Arizona) and Omar Silverio (G – Manhattan).

WVU has lost three players to the transfer portal with Jimmy Bell (C), Jamel King (F – Kennesaw State) and Josiah Davis (G – Tennessee Tech).

You can find who else West Virginia is looking in the transfer portal here and how each team in the Big 12 is doing here.
