Radford men’s basketball head coach Darris Nichols will return to his duties following the Big South Conference tournament, Jeff Goodman of Stadium reported. Nichols has been without the team for the past week after being charged with a DUI.

Goodman reports that Nichols will return to coaching on Monday. Nichols’ brother, Shane, will continue to serve as head coach.

Nichols played at West Virginia from 2004-08, pursuing a coaching career after graduation. Nichols has coached his way up the ladder at Northern Kentucky, Wofford, Louisiana Tech and Florida as an assistant. Nichols is in his second year as the head coach at Radford. The Virginia native has the Highlanders at a 18-13 (12-6 Big South) record.

Nichols was arrested February 19, 2023 for DUI in Radford, and released the next day on a $3500 unsecured bond.
