These moves are in addition to bringing in Nick Norton, the recently confirmed addition of hiring Chester Frazier from Illinois and Nelson Hernandez as general manager.
Barnett just completed his fifth season under Steve Alford staff at both Nevada and UCLA. He started his coaching career in 2013 as a graduate assistant at Indiana, the school he played for from 2009-2012.
As for Michaels, a native of nearby Pittsburgh, Pa., he becomes someone who gets carried over from the past staff. He’s been part of the WVU staff since 2022-23 season and also served as Director of Basketball Operations last year.
