West Virginia guard Jeremiah Bembry is entering the transfer portal, as confirmed by The Portal Report and WV Sports Now. Bembry spent one season with the Mountaineers.

With new head coach Darian DeVries taking over the helm, Bembry has decided to reopen his recruitment with two weeks to go until the portal entry window closes.

Bembry appeared in eight games for West Virginia this season under former head coach Josh Eilert. Bembry is seeking a medical redshirt this season, Eilert said during conference play. Bembry had a nagging shoulder injury following the Fort Myers Invitational trip back in November. The 6-foot-6 guard needs a medical reason to prove his case or else this year of eligibility for him will be burned.

Bembry currently has three years of eligibility after this season with a potential fourth season if granted this medical redshirt.

Bembry transferred from Florida State to West Virginia this summer after Eilert’s promotion to interim head coach. Bembry did not play for the Seminoles during his true freshman season as he was redshirted. Bembry was a three-star prospect out of Executive Education Academy.

WVU has landed one transfer commitment in Tucker DeVries so far this offseason and losing Josiah Harris (F), Seth Wilson (G), Patrick Suemnick (F), Kerr Kriisa (G) and now Bembry. WVU also has a high school commitment from former Drake signee KJ Tenner.
