Report: WVU WBB’s Dawn Plitzuweit Emerges as Minnesota’s Top Target

Is Dawn Plitzuweit going to be just one and done at West Virginia? Well, that’s the case according to multiple reports, including Mitchel Northam, who has contributed to WV Sports Now in the past.
Dawn Plitzuweit has emerged as Minnesota’s top target for its next coach, per source close to the situation.
She's from Wisconsin & won 158 games in 6 years at South Dakota. This season (her 1st at WVU) she led the Mountaineers to the tourney.@TheNextHoops @WVSportsNow #ncaaW

These rumors come just hours after Plitzuweit’s Mountaineers were eliminated in the NCAA Women’s Tournament by Arizona. Plitzuweit took over a West Virginia program a year ago that was transitioning from the end of an era with former longtime head coach Mike Carey.
In Plitzuweit’s first season at WVU, she led West Virginia to a 19-10 record and an at-large bid in the NCAA Women’s Tournament.

If so it’s the first major failure of the new athletic department. Same ol same ol. Great managers set organizations up to successfully lead, the rest simply react to everything happening around them, loosing sight of the bigger picture. Tunnel vision is a by product and should never be the goal of leadership. As I’ve heard oftentimes, sewage pipes must run down hill. So we’ll see. React or lead?
