Dawn Plitzuweit Leaves West Virginia WBB to Take Over as HC at Minnesota

To update the previous report following speculation just hours after the West Virginia women’s basketball team’s loss to Arizona in the NCAA Women’s Tournament, Dawn Plitzuweit is leaving the Mountaineers to take over as head coach at Minnesota.

This story was initially reported by our Mitchell Northam and the news of Plitzuweit’s move becoming official is first credited to Chantel Jennings of the Athletic.

Plitzuweit took over a West Virginia program a year ago that was transitioning from the end of an era with former longtime head coach Mike Carey. She will now look to restrict a once proud Minnesota program that has not made the NCAA Women’s Tournament since 2018.

In Plitzuweit’s only season at WVU, she led West Virginia to a 19-10 record and an at-large bid in the NCAA Women’s Tournament.

I thought she did a good job here, but our highly rated council, (directors) should have did there homework on the long run of our school! Hopefully we do a better job on whom we hire !
