West Virginia safety Saint McLeod posts a message to Mountaineer Nation soon after a report circulated about his intent to transfer. On3Sports was first with the report that McLeod has entered the transfer portal.

“I would like to thank West Virginia University for giving me the opportunity to play the sport that I love at a high level. I would also like to thank Coach Scott, Coach Mike and the whole training staff, my teammates, fans and most importantly the academic advisors for all of the support and love that I received. Lastly, I would like to thank my family and friends for being by my side every step of the way. Despite that, I would like to announce that I am entering the transfer portal,” said McLeod.

After starting two games as a freshman last season, McLeod was a victim of a stabbing back in March. He has been away from the team since before camp.

McLeod finished with 22 tackles in 2021.
