Just before tipoff against No. 17 Texas, the West Virginia basketball program will be without Taz Sherman, Gabe Osabuohien and Kobe Johnson on Saturday.

West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins announced on Friday morning that a “couple” of players are in COVID protocol.

“Yeah, we have a couple that will be under the COVID protocol,” Huggins said.

Sherman is the leading scorer for the Mountaineers this season, averaging 20.9 points per game. Osabuohien and Johnson have been key parts to the bench depth this season, both appearing in all 12 games so far.
