Right before West Virginia and Texas tipped off in Austin, WVU guard Taz Sherman reacted to missing the game, tweeting about him having faith in his team.

Sherman, along with teammates Gabe Osabuohien and Kobe Johnson, all missed the game on Saturday against Texas due to being in COVID protocol. The fifth-year senior misses his first game of the 2021-22 season, playing in 12 games. Sherman is averaging 20.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.6 steals. Sherman is shooting 44 percent from the field, taking an average of 15.8 shots per game.

The status for Sherman, Osabuohien and Johnson for the Kansas State game on Jan. 8 is questionable depending on when they entered the protocol.
