TCU Spread Indicative of Big 12 Season for WVU Football
For a true sign of how rough the 2025 season has been for WVU football, the Mountaineers are expected to suffer a multi-score defeat at home this week.
Coming off a 45-13 loss at UCF – a game Rich Rodriguez hopes is bottom – the new week opens with West Virginia as a 14.5-point underdog to TCU.
Both DraftKings and FanDuel are predicting the Horned Frogs to dominate the Mountaineers. And if WVU doesnโt find some way to show signs of life, thatโs exactly whatโs going to happen.
WVU HC Rich Rodriguez After UCF Loss: ‘I Hope This is Bottom’
At 2-5 overall and 0-4 in the Big 12, there’s not much for even the most optimistic WVU fan to point to as a sign of better days to come. The hope has to be in Rodriguez and the belief he will fulfill his promise to make West Virginia great again, granted that may take more time than initially advertised.
Conversely, TCU still has plenty left to play for. The Horned Frogs enter Week 9 at 5-2, granted theyโre only 2-2 within the Big 12. TCU is looking to build a win steak after pulling out a win in a shootout against Baylor.
