With a lot of work ahead to rebuild the WVU football roster, Rich Rodriguez and his staff will host All-American junior college safety Ta’Vari Hampton in the coming days.
Hampton will be in Morgantown to tour the facility and meet with the coaches on Jan. 6. He revealed his upcoming visit shortly after receiving an offer from the Mountaineers on Wednesday.

He’s already visited Purdue and also has a trip booked to Arkansas before heading back up north to West Virginia.
The 6-foot, 185-pound Hampton is considered one of the top junior college transfers safeties in the country due to his recent success that started at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M.
He totaled 115 tackles, 19 tackles for a loss, nine pass breakups, four interceptions and a pair of forced fumbles while earning First-Team All-Conference honors in 2025.

This transfer portal movement was expected. It should not be looked at as a bad thing, with exception of a couple of transfers out. Give the staff the chance to go after their portal targets before stressing.
