West Virginia closes Friday night with a commitment from a transferring player.

Towson transfer tight end/fullback Luke Hamilton has decided to commit to WVU. He will be joining the Mountaineers as a redshirt senior.

“I’d like to thank all of the coaches that recruited me during this process and believed in my abilities, but with that I couldn’t pass up the opportunity of a lifetime. Country Roads, I’m comin’ home,” Hamilton said in his tweet to announce his choice.

While not actually from West Virginia, Hamilton is from Cumberland, Maryland, which is very close to Morgantown, West Virginia. He also received offers from St. Francis (PA), Robert Morris and Southern Utah.

Hamilton has the rare distinction of being able to say he played against WVU and now will play for West Virginia. He appeared for Towson against WVU early in the 2022 season. He caught a pass for five yards on the year.
