West Virginia’s hot streak recruiting wise continues with their third high school commit for their 2026 class in two days. Cameron Dwyer announced his commitment to the WVU football program on Friday afternoon on Instagram.

Dwyer, a 6-foot-2, 195-pound linebacker/safety from West Palm Beach, Fla., picked the Mountaineers over offers from East Carolina, FAU, JMU, Pitt, Tulane, USF, Wake Forest and several others.

247 Sports believes Dwyer’s decision came down to moving up north to West Virginia or staying in Florida and attending USF.

Most recruiting outlets view Dwyer as more of a linebacker than safety at the college level, but West Virginia has created a hybrid role in the past for similar players. Rivals considers Dwyer a three-star prospect.

Already locked in as a future Mountaineer, Dwyer has an official visit scheduled with WVU for June 6-8.
