WVU Football Offers In-State Dual-Sport Athlete as 2026 TE

Tight ends coach Michael Nysewander is looking inside the state of West Virginia for future tight end depth. This is evident by in-state prospect Xavier Anderson announcing he received an offer from WVU football on Thursday.
Anderson posted a picture with Nysewander while revealing the Mountaineers are his eighth Division I offer.

A product of Spring Mills High School in Martinsburg, W.Va., Anderson is listed at 6-foot-6 and about 205 pounds, giving him the body type to play tight end at the college level.
Anderson has yet to earn major recognition from national outlets, but he has garnered interest from other Power Four schools, including one out of the Big 12. In addition to offers from schools like Appalachian State, Liberty and Western Michigan, Anderson has offers from Cincinnati and Virginia Tech.
Anderson is known as a true athlete in West Virginia – he also plays basketball and uses his size to get above the rim as seen in the embedded video below.
