Watch: Four-Star QB Nicco Marchiol Has Message for WVU Fans Following Playoff Win

A lot of hype has followed 2022 four-star quarterback commit Nicco Marchiol this season, and he’s only made it easier for West Virginia fans to rally behind him with his dedication to Mountaineer football. After a Hamilton High School playoff win Friday, he continued to endear himself to WVU fans.

Coming off a 164 yard and three touchdown (just three incompletions) performance in a 38-14 win over American Leadership Academy, Marchiol expressed his excitement to eventually make it out to Morgantown and couldn’t help but flash the Horns Down again after WVU’s win over Texas — a game that he attended.

Marchiol’s stellar season features a stat line of 2,441 yards and 35 touchdowns on 186-of-251 passing attempts. He’s completed 74 percent of his passing attempts at 14 yards per attempt with just two interceptions.

Marchiol showed off his legs against American Leadership Friday, and he increased his rushing totals to 293 yards and six touchdowns this season.

Marchiol and Hamilton will move into a huge AIA State Football Championship semifinal against Saguaro this weekend — a battle between the No. 1 and No. 3 teams in Arizona — to see who will advance to the state title game.
