Watch: WVU Commit Nicco Marchiol Sings ‘Country Roads’ After Huge Win

Chandler High School had won 45 straight games entering Friday night’s clash against Hamilton High School to conclude the regular season of Arizona Class 6-A football. Then Chandler ran into Nicco Marchiol.
With a clash of unbeaten Arizona powerhouses coming boiling down to a mainly defensive showdown, the Hamilton defense piling up 10 sacks in a dominant effort, West Virginia commit Nicco Marchiol guided the Huskies to a 21-14 win with two touchdown passes, and after the game, he had to do some singing.
Bally Sports Arizona’s Claudia Collins shared a video of Marchiol singing John Denver’s ‘Country Roads’ after the game.

It’s been a season of huge wins for Marchiol, leading Hamilton to a come-from-behind win over Bishop Gorman High School on national television earlier this season with a Herculean effort and Friday’s efficient win over Chandler.
Marchiol’s electric senior regular season has now come to end, complete with 2,265 yards and 34 touchdowns through the air on 169-of-230 passing attempts — completing 73.5 percent of his passes at 13.4 yards per attempt and just one interception. He also rushed for 263 yards and four touchdowns on 69 attempts.
Marchiol and Hamilton will now enter the AIA State Football Championship with a quarterfinals matchup against American Leadership Academy on Nov. 26 at 7 p.m.
