Welcoming Julia Mellett to the WVSN Team

West Virginia Sports Now is happy to announce the addition of Julia Mellett to our West Virginia athletics coverage team. Julia will primarily focus her efforts on the WVU football team, while also helping with men’s basketball and other coverage as needed.

Julia comes to WVSN following work with WVU Athletics-Video, MLB Network, the NCAA, the Daily Athenaeum, ESPN and AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh. She currently hosts a sport psychology-focused, documentary podcast called “Closer Mentality”, which dives into the mental game’s importance from the perspectives of elite athletes, coaches, and sport psychologists.

She has bachelor’s degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Sport and Exercise Psychology from West Virginia University.
