Minutes after picking up a commitment from FCS transfer Charles Woods Saturday afternoon, West Virginia also got a verbal commit from 2022 recruit Tyrin Woodby.

Woodby (6-foot-1, 170 pounds) is from St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland. He chose WVU over offers from Boston College, Buffalo, Liberty, Marshall, Maryland, UMass, Ole Miss, Pitt, Temple and Virginia Tech.

Williams is the fifth commit in WVU’s 2022 class but the first defensive player. Williams joins receiver Jarel Williams, Spring Valley tight end Corbin Page and offensive linemen Charlie Katarincic and Sully Weidman.
