Class of 2022 wide receiver Jarel Williams has committed to West Virginia, he announced on Twitter Thursday afternoon.

Williams (6-foot-3, 185 pounds) is a three-star receiver from Saraland High School in Saraland, Alabama. WVU offered Williams back in October and he also had offers from Colorado, Florida State, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, Marshall, Nebraska, Northwestern, Notre Dame and Tennessee.

Williams told AL.com that he likes the family atmosphere WVU coach Neal Brown has created within the program

“I went up recently and got to catch an open practice,” Williams said. “I like the style and speed they practice with. I really enjoyed campus. Everything just stood out to me.

“I think coach (Neal) Brown is a great coach, a coach I’m looking forward to playing for. They have a family type of atmosphere there. That’s a big part of what reeled me in. I really fell in love with that.”
Williams caught 46 passes for 802 yards and 10 touchdowns this season for Saraland and was an Alabama Sports Writers Association second-team all-state selection.
Williams is the fourth commit in WVU’s 2022 class, but the first receiver. Brown has signed multiple receivers in each of his three classes since coming to WVU. Williams joins Spring Valley tight end Corbin Page and offensive linemen Charlie Katarincic and Sully Weidman.
