West Virginia Basketball Receives Vote Points in Latest AP Poll

West Virginia basketball received three vote points in the latest AP poll released on Monday afternoon. WVU sits at No. 41 amongst the voted teams in the poll.

This marks the first time since Jan. 17 that West Virginia has represented in some form of the AP poll.

Big 12 Teams in AP Poll:

No. 3 Kansas
No. 4 Texas
No. 7 Baylor
No. 21 Texas Tech

RV: TCU (82), West Virginia (3)

West Virginia has started out the season 4-0, highlighted by a blowout win in the Backyard Brawl against Pitt on Nov. 11. WVU’s four transfer portal additions led the team in scoring: Erik Stevenson (14.0 ppg), Tre Mitchell (13.3 ppg), Joe Toussaint (10.5 ppg) and Emmitt Matthews (10.3 ppg).

West Virginia have an opportunity to showcase their team this season when they travel to Portland for the Phil Knight Legacy tournament, starting on Thursday. The Mountaineers will take on No. 24 Purdue in the first round with the winner playing Gonzaga or Portland State.
