As West Virginia fizzled out against No. 14 Texas Tech in Morgantown on Saturday, the Mountaineers were dealt their seventh-straight loss. The defeat at the hands of the Red Raiders means WVU has matched their longest losing streak in the last nine years.

The Mountaineers lost seven-straight games to close out the 2012-13 season, not ending the streak until the next season. WVU that season was highlighted by Final Four team member Deniz Kilicic, who averaged 8.9 points and 4.3 rebounds. Kilicic was supported by Eron Harris, Aaric Murray, Terry Henderson, Jabarie Hinds and a young Juwan Staten.

West Virginia lost to three ranked teams during the losing streak in 2013. The current Mountaineers have lost to five ranked opponents in their losing streak.

WVU has never lost eight-straight games under head coach Bob Huggins.

The Mountaineers will look to end their long losing streak when they host a ranked Iowa State team in Morgantown on Tuesday night. After ISU, WVU will go on road trip to play Oklahoma State and Kansas State over the next week.
