West Virginia Contacts Drake Guards in Transfer Portal

West Virginia has contacted Drake transfer guards Kevin Overton and Conor Enright in the portal, they tell On3 Sports and WV Sports Now.

Overton has heard from Cal, Colorado State, Kansas State, LSU, Memphis, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, West Virginia and others.

Overton (6-foot-5) completed his first season with Drake being named to the Missouri Valley All-Freshman Team. Overton recorded 11.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 35 games. Overton shot 44% from the field and 35% from three. Overton’s season-high was 23 points vs. Murray State in February.

Overton, a freshman, has three years of eligibility remaining.

Enright has heard from Ball State, Bowling Green, Charleston Souther, Davidson, DePual, Furman, Penn, Robert Morris, Stanford, West Virginia, Western Michigan, Wofford and others.

Enright (6-foot) averaged 6.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.0 steals in 33 starts for the Bulldogs. Enright shot 44% from three this past season and had multiple games with four or more three-pointers.

Enright, a sophomore, has two years of eligibility remaining.

Overton and Enright’s coach, Darian DeVries, took the West Virginia job on Sunday night and will be introduced officially on Thursday. Drake finished 28-7 this season, winning the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament and reaching the NCAA Tournament.
