West Virginia extends offer to top 2020 New York athlete

Last week, class of 2020 athlete Israel Abanikanda of Abraham Lincoln HS/Brooklyn, NY received an offer from West Virginia.

“It was a great offer. It would be a great experience and opportunity since I would have so much space in an offense to make big plays.” he said.

Abanikanda also holds offers from Boston College, Duke, Purdue, Rutgers, Syracuse, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and many others. At the moment, no schools stand out in his recruitment as he will take time to go through the process before putting out his top interests.

A visit date is in the works for sometime this summer, but has not been scheduled yet.

Abanikanda said, “I’m looking for a place where I can feel comfortable, feel at home and where the football program is like family. Also, a school with my major (Computer Engineering) and sets me up for life after football.

Stay tuned to DubVNation for the latest on Abanikanda’s recruitment.
