West Virginia Football Announces Date of 2023 Gold-Blue Game

The annual Gold-Blue Spring Game to ignite the path to the next football season now has an official date.
West Virginia will hold the scrimmage game event on Saturday, April 22, at 1 p.m., at Milan Puskar Stadium. This year, the Gold-Blue Game will be presented by Encova.
The Gold-Blue Game will give fans an opportunity to see the 2023 version of the Mountaineers on the field playing together for the first time. This will serve as a conclusion to spring drills, which begin on Tuesday, March 21 and end after 15 spring practices with the Gold-Blue game itself.

A major focus of the preparation for 2023 season will be the quarterback competition between Garrett Greene and Nicco Marchiol. Head coach Neal Brown made it clear early in the offseason that, unlike in past years, he will not be looking to pursue a veteran transfer quarterback and plans to start either Greene or Marchiol in Week 1 of the 2023 season.
Fans can attend the Gold-Blue Game by purchasing a ticket for $10 online at WVUGAME.com or by calling 1-800-WVU GAME. WVU students can attend for free by showing a valid student ID on game day.
As usual, a portion of proceeds from the Gold-Blue Game will benefit WVU Medicine Children’s. The WVU football program has donated more than $790,000 to WVU Medicine Children’s over the years.
Additional information about the broadcast of the Gold-Blue game will be made available at a later date.
