West Virginia makes top five for 2020 linebacker

As the summer approaches, Neal Brown and his staff are heading into a crucial summer of recruiting and this evening they received some good news with class of 2020 linebacker Ty Berrong (6’2″225 lbs) from Port Orange, Florida announcing his top five schools.

Berrong included Nebraska, South Florida, Pitt and Purdue along with West Virginia. There is no current timetable for a decision date, but Berrong did inform DubVNation that the Mountaineers would be a top school when this list officially came out, which held true.

Defensive coordinator Vic Koenning is looking to build his defense with bigger framed linebackers and Berrong fits that mold. Earlier this week, they picked up JUCO linebacker S.L. McCall of Iowa Western.

Stay tuned to DubVNation for the latest on Berrong’s recruitment.
