Top 2020 linebacker goes in depth why West Virginia made his top five

Last night, class of 2020 linebacker Ty Berrong of Port Orange, FL released his top five schools which consisted of Pitt, Purdue, Nebraska, South Florida and West Virginia.

Berrong visited West Virginia back in late March and told DubVNation, “I love the town atmosphere. I can’t wait to go for a game and see what it’s like. The coaching staff was awesome and loved how they run the team.” The newly renovated football facilities also seemed to catch his eye. “They (facilities) were amazing and top notch. They have the tools and resources that no other college in the country has.” he added.

After releasing his top schools, he noted that a big reason West Virginia was in that group had to do with his relationship with co-offensive coordinator Chad Scott. “Coach Scott has been recruiting me since he was at North Carolina and we’ve been talking since I was a freshman.” Berrong said.

At the moment there is no scheduled date for an official visit, but Berrong does plan on making a return trip back to Morgantown sometime this fall.

Stay tuned to DubVNation for the latest on Berrong’s recruitment.
