West Virginia Native Reveals Intentions to Transfer Out of WVU Football Program

On Thursday afternoon, a West Virginia native announced his intentions to leave the WVU football program and enter the transfer portal.

The next portal window does not open until Dec. 9, but “Trey” Thomas Bowers III revealed he’s leaving WVU and will transfer on X (formerly Twitter) Thursday morning.

Listed at 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds, the defensive back/athlete has not appeared in any games this season and has four years of eligibility remaining. He committed to the Mountaineers January.

The Coal City, W.Va. native was a first-team All-State selection and member of the 2022 AA State champions at Independence High School.
