ESPN’s Joe Lunardi released his updated bracketology projections on Friday morning. Lunardi kept West Virginia as “last four byes.”

Lunardi has WVU with Pitt, Nevada and Memphis in the same category. The Mountaineers are projected to play San Diego State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Greensboro, Nc.

WVU is currently 16-12 (5-10 Big 12). West Virginia has knocked off Iowa State, TCU, Auburn and others in their quest to get back into the NCAA Tournament hunt. The Mountaineers had a big win over Oklahoma State on Monday to keep their hopes alive.

West Virginia has three regular season games remaining: one at home, two on the road.

WVU and No. 3 Kansas will tipoff on Saturday at 4 p.m. on ESPN.
