West Virginia to Play Texas Tech in First Round of Big 12 Tournament

Following the Big 12’s Saturday slate, West Virginia has earned an 8-seed in the Big 12 Conference tournament and will face 9-seed Texas Tech. The Mountaineers and Red Raiders will face off in the first round on Wednesday night in Kansas City at 7 p.m.

Here’s the full tournament schedule for the Big 12:

WVU will head into Kansas City with a 3-1 record in their last four games. Texas Tech dropped their regular season finale against Oklahoma State at home. The Red Raiders will need to very far in the Big 12 tournament to even be considered for an NCAA Tournament bid. West Virginia’s Erik Stevenson thinks getting win No. 18 against K-State solidified their odds.

West Virginia and Texas Tech split their season series with the Mountaineers winning in Lubbock and the Red Raiders winning in Morgantown.

The winner of WVU-Texas Tech will play 1-seed Kansas on Thursday afternoon.
