Wild Things Sign Former WVU Baseball Standout Braden Barry

A former WVU baseball star has landed an opportunity in with the Washington Wild Things of the Frontier League.

The Wild Things announced the signing of outfielder Braden Barry on Tuesday.

Barry, 24, has spent the past three years in the Toronto Blue Jays organization after being selected in the eighth round of the 2023 MLB Draft.

A native of Louisville, Ky., Barry hit .282 with 14 homers, 76 RBIs, 34 doubles, five triples, 44 stolen bases and a .371 on-base percentage in three seasons as a Mountaineer. After the 2023 college season, he spent the summer with the West Virginia Black Bears.
