Blue Jays Select WVU OF Braden Barry in 8th Round of MLB Draft

WVU outfielder Braden Barry has now joined the Toronto Blue Jays origination after being selected with the 244th pick of the 8th round in MLB Draft.

Barry hit .282 with 14 homers, 76 RBIs, 34 doubles, five triples, 44 stolen bases and a .371 on-base percentage in 3 seasons as a Mountaineer. After the 2023 college season, he spent the summer with the West Virginia Black Bears.

Barry became the second WVU player drafted following the Pirates selection of pitcher Carlson Reed in the fourth round.
