Update (3:05 PM) –
WVU Baseball completed their sweep of the Baylor Bears on Sunday, prevailing 13-4.
The bottom half of West Virginia’s lineup contributed the vast majority of the offense. Grant Hussey managed two hits, including a three-run homer to get the scoring started and inch himself closer to the Mountaineers’ all-time record; Ben Lumsden contributed two hits, including a double, from the eight spot, while Skylar King hit two doubles and a single, turning things over to the top of the lineup. JJ Wetherholt drew three walks—one with the bases loaded—and added a single as Bears’ pitchers avoided his bat like the plague.
Up next, West Virginia will travel to PNC Park, home of the Pittsburgh Pirates, to take on the Pitt Panthers in the Backyard Brawl on Tuesday, April 30.
