WVSN Notebook 4/7/24: A West Virginia Coach Lands New Job
The West Virginia Sports Now Daily Notebook is a daily recap of news concerning West Virginia University Athletics.
Update (4:30 PM) –
WVU Baseball swept their series with Kansas, beating the Jayhawks 16-9 on Sunday. The two teams played to a 7-7 tie through the first five innings but the Mountaineers bullpen and batters took over late.
West Virginia hit four consecutive home runs in the eighth inning, with Logan Sauve, Sam White, Reed Chumley and Kyle West each clearing the fences. That marked the second homer of the game for Chumley, while Grant Hussey added his seventh home run of the season earlier in the day as well. JJ Wetherholt got on base three times with a single and two walks.
