In an effort to keep up the momentum from their historic 2024 season, the WVU baseball program is looking to the transfer portal again to improve the roster and replace departing players.

West Virginia’s latest addition is Manhattan College transfer infielder Chase Swain. Swain, who mostly plays short stop, will be entering his junior season. He hit .392 with five home runs, 41 RBI, and had 15 stolen bases as a sophomore this past season.

A New Jersey native, Swain was named first-team All-MAAC player. Swain also has experience playing the outfield in his career as well.

The addition of Swain comes a day after WVU also secured Pittsburgh, Pa. native and Kent State transfer pitcher Jack Kartsonas.
