WVU Lands Commitment from European DE Edward Vesterinen

West Virginia University’s recent recruiting connection to European football — not soccer but actual American football played in Europe — paid off again Monday morning.
Edward Vesterinen, a 6-foot-4, 240 pound defensive lineman from Finland went to Twitter to announce he had not only received a scholarship offer from the Mountaineers, but he was ready to commit to WVU right now.
I’m BLESSED to say that I’ve received an offer and I’m 100% committed to West Virginia University @WVUfootball @PPIRecruits @BCollierPPI pic.twitter.com/hON6irKlGH

Vesterinen, a standout for the Helsinki Roosters and member of Finland’s youth national team, joins Swedish tight end Victor Wikstrom as Europeans committed to WVU’s 2021 recruiting class. If both make it on campus in Morgantown, that would give West Virginia three Europeans — along with Dutch defensive back Jairo Faverus — on the roster who were recruited by Brown. Vesterinen currently has offers from Coastal Carolina and Massachusetts in addition to the Mountaineers.
