WVU Football OL Gavin Crawford Hits Transfer Portal

Just four months after signing with the WVU football program, offensive lineman Gavin Crawford is in the transfer portal. WV Sports Now can confirm Crawford entered the portal on Wednesday. EerSports was first with the news.

Crawford’s exit comes after signing with West Virginia in December out of Good Counsel High School out of Olney, Maryland. Listed at 6-foot-3, 330 points, Crawford was considered a three-star recruit out of high school.

Crawford will have all four years left of his eligibility with his new program.

WVU was the second team to offer Crawford, back in January of 2023.  The Mountaineers were able to receive a commitment from Crawford before he even visited Morgantown. Prior to his commitment, Crawford took two unofficial visits to Duke and an official visit to UCLA.

WVU gained Crawford’s commitment on May 22, followed by his official visit on May 31.

Crawford carried 19 offers, including ones from: Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, UCLA, Duke, and Pittsburgh amongst others.
