WVU Football Secures 3rd 2025 Commit of Week in Ohio ATH

As they prepare for the 2024 regular season finale, the WVU football added their third recruiting win in 24 hours. Tyrell Russell announced his commitment to the Mountaineers Tuesday afternoon, becoming the second recruit to flip to WVU.

Russell was previously committed to Toledo. Regarded as an athlete by most recruiting outlets, Russell is a 5-foot-11, 175-pound cornerback out of Beechcroft High School in Columbus, Ohio.

Russell’s versatility is what makes him an attractive addition to WVU’s 2025 class.

He also had offers from Akron, Marshall and Nebraska.
