WVU Football DL recruit Antonio Wilcher

In addition offering recruits for their next 2027 class, the WVU football staff is also looking at prospects for 2028 and beyond. And recently, West Virginia offered a highly regarded Florida based defensive lineman.

Antonio Wilcher publicized his WVU offer on social media, thanking senior offensive assistant Travis Trickett for igniting their relationship a year in advance of his true recruitment.

A product of Miami Southride High School in Miami, Fla., Wilcher is currently listed at 6-foot-2 and 280 pounds.

West Virginia has now joined California, Florida, Florida State, Minnesota, Pitt, Syracuse, USF, Southern Miss and Western Kentucky as far as programs already showing interest in Wilcher.

A two-time Pop Warner national champion, Wilcher also has experience on the offensive side of the ball as a fullback, an interesting situation for a player being pursued by a Rich Rodriguez-led team.
